PVD Airside Tour
No Pilot's License Necessary
In partnership with the Rhode Island Airport Corporation, we are pleased to offer over 400 spots on Airside Planespotting Tours at Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport. A coach bus will take you on a tour of the airfield, getting you up close and personal with airport operations. The price listed covers round-trip transportation from the Omni Providence Hotel (the tour itself is provided by the airport for free).
The tour is available to all attendees, including non-US citizens.
Several times are available:
- 8am, 9am, 10am, and 11am on Friday
- 9am, 10am, 11am, and 12pm on Monday
Note: These facilities are security-sensitive areas that are subject to operational availability. For reasons beyond our control, these tours may be cancelled at any time, including on the day of.

PVD ATC Tower Facility Tour
Go Behind the Scenes
We've organized small group tours of Providence Air Traffic Control Tower for attendees to see first-hand how controllers work traffic at the airport. The price listed covers round-trip transportation from the Omni Providence Hotel (the tour itself is provided by the FAA for free).
Several times are available:
- 8am, 9:30am, and 11am on Friday
- 9am, 10:30am, and 12pm on Monday
Note: These facilities are security-sensitive areas that are subject to operational availability. For reasons beyond our control, these tours may be cancelled at any time, including on the day of. Additionally, at the request of the FAA, this tour is only available to US citizens.

FlightSimExpo Banquet
An Exclusive Add-on for FSA Captains
FSA Captains are invited to purchase tickets for the FlightSimExpo Banquet, happening from 7-9pm on Friday, June 27 at the Rhode Island Convention Center. The Banquet is an exclusive dinner where you can meet other FSA Captains and talk about all things flight simulation. Not yet an FSA Captain? Become one today! View the tentative dinner menu here.
The FlightSimExpo Banquet is purchased separately from show registration and other Addons. Details and registration information will be emailed directly to FSA Captains in April.
Escape Room
Test your Problem-Solving Skills
Join fellow attendees for themed escape rooms where you can solve puzzles and escape before time runs out! Once you've escaped, we encourage participants to grab dinner together at one of the following nearby restaurants:

X-Rave X-Plane Party
Hang Out with Makers of the Simulator
Join Austin Meyer and the X-Plane team for X-Rave, a unique celebration where aviation meets electrifying beats! Perfect for flight sim and dance enthusiasts alike, the event will also feature guest DJs from our community, spinning tracks that will keep you moving all night long!
Note: This event is available to attendees aged 18+.

FSExpo Show Floor Tour
A Getting-Started Tour for Beginners
Are you new to flight simulation? Join FlightSimExpo volunteers on a free guided tour through the exhibit hall, focusing on the best places for newcomers to get started with our hobby. Plus, ask questions and share experiences with other newcomers.
Several times are available:
- 11am and 1pm on Saturday
- 10am on Sunday
Tours depart from the registration desk and last approximately 75 minutes.

Cockpit Building Workshop
Build Your Own Hardware, and Take it Home!
MobiFlight and Captain Bob Flight Simulation invite you to build your own home cockpit components at the show. Registration includes all required hardware and a one-hour guided build session. All materials are provided and no prior cockpit building experience is required!
Several times are available:
- LEDs/Switches/Encoder Box ($59): 10-11:15am on Saturday and Sunday
- Multi-Radio Module ($79): 11:30am-12:45pm on Saturday and Sunday
X-Plane Workshops
Design Your Own X-Plane Airplane & Scenery
Participate in a free hands-on workshop to learn more about content creation in X-Plane 12. All sessions include a guided, 90-minute tutorial on a laptop computer where you design with the instructor in real time. All materials are provided and no prior experience is required!
Several times are available:
- Aircraft Design: 10-11:30am on Saturday and Sunday
- Scenery Design: 1-2:30pm on Saturday and Sunday
- 3D Modeling: 3-4:30pm on Saturday
Saturday Evening
Comedy Bus Tour
The R-Rated City Bus Tour Experience
Take in all the sights and sounds of the city while you enjoy some R-rated laughs and fun on this 90-minute stand-up comedy tour on wheels. Bring your own drinks (including beer and wine), or purchase some during the stops. The tour includes one free pizza slice during a stop at a local brewery. We recommend you enjoy dinner at a nearby restaurant before the tour.

Top Gun Private Screening
Feel the Need, the Need for Speed...
Enjoy a private screening of Top Gun: Maverick with fellow FlightSimExpo attendees at Showcase Cinemas at Providence Place Mall, directly connected to the Omni Providence Hotel and Rhode Island Convention Center. Exclusive for FlightSimExpo attendees, the evening includes private cinema seating, a free drink, and a medium popcorn.
The screening begins at 8:30pm. We suggest grabbing dinner on your own or with a group of friends at the Mall or one of the nearby restaurants before the show.

Providence Riverboat Tour
A Unique Event on the Providence Waterways!
With spectacular views of the city skyline, Waterplace Park and the Providence River, enjoy an experience you will never forget! The one-hour tour will include up to 18 FlightSimExpo attendees, and you're welcome to bring your own food and drinks (including alcohol) on board!
